Bacon Gouda Turkey Burgers

You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes, you just need to put bacon and cheese on it. These delicious Bacon Gouda Turkey Burgers are evidence of that.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey I use 85% lean
  • salt & pepper
  • 4 slices gouda cheese
  • 8 slices bacon cooked
  • 4 buns
  • 1 red onion sliced
  • recommended: BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Start by cooking the bacon if it’s not already cooked. (Easily cook the bacon in the oven on 350 for 20 minutes).
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Lightly brush buns with oil and let cook until toasted.
  • Form the ground turkey into four 1-inch-thick patties. Season with salt and pepper. grill over high heat, turning once, until nearly cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  • Add the patties to the heated skillet. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning once, until burgers are cooked through.
  • Top the patties with a slice of gouda cheese, cover with a lid, and let the cheese melt for about a minute.
  • On top of a bun, add the burger patty, red onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Enjoy!
