- 1 lb ground beef 93% lean 16 oz
- ½ onion diced 75 grams
- 24 oz jar pasta sauce 680 grams
- 6 lasagna noodles dry 150 grams
- 3 cups nonfat cottage cheese 24 oz
- ½ cup parmesan cheese 60 grams
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded 56 grams
- 3 cloves garlic minced 15 grams
- 1.5 tablespoon italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic and cook for about 2 minutes.
Add ground beef and brown, about 8 minutes.
Add seasonings to meat and mix. Add pasta sauce and stir. Set aside.
In a blender, make the cheese sauce mixture by blending the cottage cheese and parmesan.
In a crockpot, you're going to make layers.
Add ½ of the meat mixture to the bottom, a layer of noodles, and then a layer of ½ of the cheese mixture.
Repeat again to make more layers.
Top with shredded mozzarella.
Cook on low for 2-4 hours.
Garnish with basil (optional) and red pepper flakes.
