White Chocolate Strawberry Dream Bites Recipe

Every once in a while, a recipe comes along that seems to require a new name. For example, these coconut chocolate chip bliss bars. I don't really know what a bliss bar is, but I knew what I needed to call these bars when I tasted them!

Today we get to think about these white chocolate strawberry dream bites, which fit solidly into the category of "dream bites," which is followed by a reasonable question:

What in the world is a dream bite?

What is a dream bite?

If you search around for information about dream bites, the lack of clear results might lead you to conclude that dream bites aren't really a thing. This is perfectly normal—in fact, I was once like you! Before I made these white chocolate strawberry dream bites, I didn't think they were a thing.

But, dear reader: they are very much a thing. Dream bites are a very yummy thing that you take out of the freezer and savor and go to your happy place with.

They're a little bit dessert-y, but not limited to after-dinner fare. They're great as a snack or even a sweet way to round out a meal.

I'm going to let you in on a little trade secret: in the world of online recipe content, it's not particularly wise to call something by a name that doesn't really exist. If there's no such thing as a dream bite, there aren't going to be a lot of searches for "how to make white chocolate strawberry dream bites" or "best dream bite recipe ever," so it's harder to get people onto the page.

Here's the thing: sometimes you just have to call it like you see it. I made this recipe and I felt like these were good enough to be called dream bites. So dream bites they are!

How to make white chocolate strawberry dream bites

If you've gotten this far, you may have accepted (or at least tolerated) my claims that dream bites are real and delicious and totally a thing. Here's where you get to find out for yourself (by making these white chocolate strawberry dream bites and eating them):

  • Add all of the ingredients (except for toppings) into a food processor and pulse until fine.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Use a cookie dough scoop to roll mixture into balls.
  • Place baking sheet in the freezer.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips for the topping in the microwave by heating for 30 second increments and stirring, until completely melted.
  • Take bites out of the freezer and drizzle the white chocolate on top.
  • Sprinkle with crushed dried strawberries.
  • Enjoy. Store in freezer.

White chocolate strawberry dream bites substitutes

So you want to substitute some ingredients in your dream bites, eh? As usual, you should always feel empowered to substitute whatever you want in any of these recipes, with the caveat that you're going to get a different sort of thing at the end of it.

Here are non-exhaustive list of ingredients where you might think about swapping:

  • The nuts: instead of using walnuts, try pecans, or even almonds.
  • The fruit: freeze-dried strawberries are good... but why not apples? Cherries? Mangoes?
  • The chocolate: Go dark! Go flavored! Go... whatever!

Energy Bites with Dates

Remember earlier when I was talking about how people on the internet might not search for a recipe of a thing that doesn't exist? Well, according to my fancy internet research, it turns out real people are interested in energy bites with dates.

Of course, you could argue that these white chocolate strawberry dream bites are actually energy bites with dates. They do provide you with energy when you eat them! Then again, you and I know that these are dream bites, and any similarity to energy bites with dates is purely incidental.

Strawberry Energy Bites

While people are searching for energy bites, they might want to know about strawberry energy bites as well. These dream bites, in addition to providing energy, also happen to provide a pop of strawberry flavor courtesy of the freeze-dried strawberries in the recipe.

So perhaps people who think they are interested in strawberry energy bites will realize that they were actually interested in these white chocolate strawberry dream bites all along!

How to store dream bites

Dream bites, which are a thing, are stored in the freezer. You could also store them in the fridge for a milder chill, but they might be a bit more crumbly and less coherent. Still tasty, though!

These are great out of the freezer, but you can also give them a try right after you form them together. They're pretty nice that way, too.
