Did you wake up craving a Chick-Fil-A Egg White Grill? For an easy, homemade alternative, check out this Chick-Fil-A Copy Cat Egg White Grill recipe.

What is the egg white grill?
The egg white grill is a breakfast sandwich at Chick-Fil-A. The breakdown of this breakfast sandwich is a toasted english muffin, a grilled chicken breast, cooked egg whites, and a slice of cheese. This breakfast option is a lower calorie, higher protein option compared to other options on the menu. This is my go-to order when I'm looking for a healthy fast-food option in the morning.
Copy cat egg white grill
Let me be honest, I love getting the egg white grill at Chick-Fil-A, but I don't always love eating out. I will do it when it's necessary or to celebrate a special occasion, but I much prefer cooking things myself. I know I can save time and money eating meals in my own home. So that I won't have to sacrifice egg white grills, I decided to create a homemade version.
This Copy Cat Egg White Grill recipe is a homemade version of the classic Chick-Fil-A Egg White Grill. This savory breakfast sandwich consists of egg, chicken, and cheese between an english muffin. This is a great high-protein, savory, on-the-go breakfast option! It's also perfect for your next weekly meal prep.

What ingredients do I need for this recipe?
This savory breakfast sandwich is packed with protein! The egg white grill recipe calls for English muffins, chicken breast, cheese, and egg whites, all of which will create a delicious and easy on-the-go option. Here’s what you’ll need:
- English muffin - The Egg White Grill comes with a classic, flour English muffin. However, I like to use whole wheat English muffins. You can use whatever kind and brand you like best!
- Sliced cheese - This breakfast sandwich comes with American cheese. However, I'm an "anything but American cheese" gal, so I choose to use provolone. Any sliced cheese will work great!
- Chicken breast - Using thin, boneless, skinless chicken breasts will work perfect for this recipe. They will be grilled before adding them to the sandwich.
- Egg whites - To easily cook the egg whites all at once, I bake them in the oven using a muffin tin. If you want them to be more in a patty shape or prefer cooking them on the stove top, that totally works!
What substitutions can I make?
It's so easy to make substitutions in this recipe! Here are a few ideas:
- English muffins - You can use whatever kind of English muffin you like best.
- Chicken - It's important that there's a meat on this sandwich for protein, but truly you could opt for fried chicken, bacon, sausage, or whatever protein you want on your English muffin.
- Cheese - I substitute the standard American cheese for provolone, so you can absolutely use whatever kind you like best!
- Egg Whites - If you prefer whole eggs to egg whites, you can make that substitution for this recipe.

What equipment will I need to make this recipe?
You don't need much to make this recipe!
- Oven - This is how you will easily bake everything. I heat it to 350 and use it to bake the chicken and egg whites at the same time.
- Baking sheet - This is what I use to cook the chicken and assemble the sandwiches.
- Muffin tin - This is how I easily cook the egg whites at the same time.

How do I make this recipe?
This recipe is such a great option for meal prep because you can make these egg white grill sandwiches in bulk and enjoy them all week long! Here's what you'll do:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Add cooking spray to grease a muffin tin.
- Pour ¼ cup of egg whites into 6 of the muffin tins.
- Add the chicken breast on a greased baking sheet.
- Place the pans of egg whites and chicken into the oven. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
- While the egg whites and chicken are baking, prepare the rest of the sandwiches.
- Cut the English muffins in half. Add a slice of cheese on ½ of the English muffin.
- When the chicken and egg whites are finished cooking, add one of each onto a sandwich.
- Wrap the finished sandwiches in aluminum foil until ready to eat.
- When ready to eat: heat up the sandwich by broiling in the oven until warm.

How can I store these?
I wrap each egg white grill in aluminum foil and store them in the fridge for up to 5 days. I wait to heat up the sandwich until the day I will eat it.
How can I reheat these?
Whenever you're ready to enjoy one of the sandwiches, simply place it in the oven on broil until it is heated up. You can also bake at 350 until warm.

I just made these a few days ago and they’re so easy, good and convenient! Meal prepping breakfast is the most important thing for me. I mean you can eat it all day and I’m hangry in the morning. It’s especially convenient when my 4 year old and I can’t agree on what to have. Most importantly it kept me going till lunchtime! Thanks for the great recipe!

Looks great!!! Do you grill chicken on the grill or just put the raw chicken in oven?
Jordan Smith says
I bake the chicken and egg whites in the oven at the same time to speed up the process, but you can cook the chicken any way you like!

Love how easy this to prep on a weekend for a great filling breakfast all week. We love to put some hot sauce in the eggs to spice it up and laughing cow aged cheddar to replace the sliced cheese to making it creamy. Excellent!!

This is my go to breakfast right now! We added reduced fat cheese slice, and YUM!! Thank you!

@Kristi,
lol sorry I have to always comment when I see a follow Kristi. :o)
In relation to the recipe: I am making these this week. I just realized a few months ago gluten doesn't like me so I got Canyon bakehouse English Muffins (I like their bread and bagels, we'll see about the Muffins), I will be using American Cheese (low sodium), today I will be trying breaded chicken tenders from RealGood Foods (again gluten free) andddddddd egg whites. Maybe some hot sauce?
If the breaded chicken doesn't go well, I always have some chicken breasts in the freezer!

So tasty and I love the protein content, helps me go throughout the whole day-especially working out everyday, running, or working labor intensive job. It is such a positive day changer!! Thanks!!
Abby says
Thanks for sharing this recipe. Could you heat this up in a microwave instead of the oven? Looks awesome but I eat breakfast once I arrive at work.
Jordan Smith says
Definitely! The english muffin won't get as crispy as in the oven, but a microwave can heat it up for sure.
Penni says
How many ounces are the chicken breasts you use?
Jordan Smith says
4 ounces of chicken breast.
Alaina says
Super yummy and amazing macros - I add a swipe of cream cheese on the english muffin too!
