Breakfast? Dessert? Snack? Sometimes a food is so nice you'll want it at every meal: these banana chocolate chip bars include plenty of chocolate goodness while being just the right amount of sweet.

Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
Depending on where you grew up, banana bread might be among the first things you learned to bake. Bananas getting too ripe? Mash 'em up and give them new life!
This ain't your grandma's banana bread, though. In fact, as you can see from the title, it isn't banana bread at all. These are banana chocolate chip bars.
But what's a bar?

Everything's a bar... if you cut it right. These might end up becoming banana chocolate chip squares, circles, stars, or just a big ol' loaf. The point is: they're darn tasty, any way you slice it.
You may not be a fan of bananas, but I'd still challenge you to taste these bars and tell me you don't want to take another bite.
Banana Bars with Chocolate Chips
Adding something to that batter you just finished whipping up? There's a good chance it'll be chocolate chips. I'd reckon they're just about the most popular baking ingredient to mix in.
Here, chocolate chips take center stage. But make no mistake: these bars aren't just a vehicle for your favorite chocolate morsels. The whole recipe is a great balance of texture and flavor.

- bananas (preferably ripe)

How to Store Banana Chocolate Chip Bars
I store these bars in a sealed container. I also like to keep them in the fridge, as they taste great when cooled down as well as warm, but this isn't necessary.

This recipe was so moist and delicious! I made them as muffins and used about half the honey. I will definitely make these again!!
Jordyn says
Very yummy recipe & pairs well with a warm cup of coffee! I added some chopped walnuts for some extra crunch! I will be making this again and including in my meal plans!! Try this out!

This recipe is BANANAS (hee hee) but seriously, so good! A little twist on typical banana bread and it’s kid friendly! If you have a picky toddler (like I do) then you know how hard it can be to find something they will eat outside of chicken nuggets and PB sandwich’s lol
I did sub gluten free 1:1 all purpose flour since I’m GF and it turned out great!
Jessica says
These were a favorite in my family! I love that I almost *always* have all of these ingredients in the pantry. Easy to throw together! Will be making again for sure
Morgan Mehrley says
I love these bars!!! They are just easy to make and absolutely delicious!!! Especially with the chocolate chips!!
Kimberly Stephenson says
These look sooo yummy. I’m wanting to try them but have type 2 diabetes. Can the honey be substituted for a different sweetener? And I’m thinking Lilly’s chocolate chips. Do you have more diabetic friendly pastry recipes?
Jordan Smith says
Could you use a sugar free syrup instead of honey? Lilly's chocolate chips work as well! I don't have too many pastries labeled as diabetic-friendly, but most of my recipes can handle ingredient swaps!
Kaitlan says
Love how simple and delicious these are. Kids wouldn’t stop eating them!

so easy and great as a mid day snack
