A star crunch is a yummy, crispy, chocolate caramel treat from one of the most memorable ladies for us 90s kids - Little Debbie. This dessert is not the best-looking one on the market but the flavors will definitely not disappoint.

Chocolate, caramel, and some crunchy, crisp rice is the perfect combination guaranteed to hook every member of your family. Now get ready to create these delicious homemade star crunch bars with only 5 ingredients and half an hour!

With just five delicious ingredients and thirty minutes, you'll have no excuse to get busy making these in your kitchen. The classic caramel, chocolate, crunch will give you all the taste of the original on the healthier side.

What are the ingredients in a star crunch?

You only need 5 ingredients!

  • crispy rice cereal 
  • dark chocolate chips 
  • coconut oil 
  • caramel bits 
  • milk

How to make homemade star crunch bars

  • Place a piece of parchment paper in a 9 x 9 baking dish. Set aside.
  • Add the crispy rice cereal to a large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate microwave-safe bowl, add the caramel bits and milk. Place in the microwave for 3 minutes, until caramel bits are melted. Stir until mixture reaches a smooth consistency.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Place in the microwave for about 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until completely melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate and caramel into the bowl over the crispy rice cereal. Stir gently until the cereal is completely coated.
  • Pour the coated crispy rice mixture into the pan with parchment paper.
  • Place in the freezer for 30 minutes. Cut into pieces & enjoy!

  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal 82 grams
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips 112 grams
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil 14 grams
  • ½ cup caramel bits 96 grams
  • 2 tablespoon milk

      You can use any kind of milk! I used almond for the recipe because that's what I had in the fridge 🙂
