Meet Chicken Ramen Stir Fry. A jazzed up version of the traditional Japanese noodle dish, loaded with veggies, protein, and flavor!

Chicken Ramen Stir Fry
Ramen has a long and storied past. The history of ramen dates all the way back to China in the 1800s. The dish really took off in Japan and its popularity has been growing ever since. Since it's inception, ramen has transformed and evolved.
Probably the biggest transformation was the invention of the instant noodles in the 1950s. These are the noodles known for being a college student's best friend due to it's quick prepartion time and low cost.

Chicken Ramen substitution ideas
Looking to make a few substitutions? Here are a couple of starting points for you!
- Soy sauce: Coconut aminos are a soy-free replacement for soy sauce. It also has less sodium. I personally cannot taste the difference between the two, especially when using it as an ingredient for a sauce like this recipe does.
- Vegetables: This recipe calls for bell peppers and snap peas. However, if you don't love those or if you'd rather add even more greens to your stir fry, try adding in some other traditional stir fry veggies.
- Chicken: Feel free to substitute your favorite ground meat - beef, pork, or turkey!
- Canola oil: If you aren't a canola oil fan, you can use avocado oil or anything with a high enough smoke point.

Can ramen noodles be fried?
They can be! Ramen noodles get a yummy, crispy texture when you pan fry them.
Don't fry them straight from the package, cook them in water for 1-2 minutes before popping them in a pan to fry them. This particular recipe does not call for the noodles to be fried but if you're feeling adventurous go ahead and give it a try!

What to add to chicken ramen noodles?
This recipe calls for bell pepper, snap peas, a scrumptious homemade sauce, and sesame seeds. However, feel free to get creative.
Some other ideas for add-ins are a soft-boiled egg, spinach, mushrooms, lime juice, or seaweed. Do what feels right to you! Ramen is super versatile and this recipe is no different.
How can I make chicken ramen taste better?
Make this recipe! But really, this recipe is so delicious and add lots of flavor and nutrients to just a normal ramen packet.
It also gets rid of the high-sodium seasoning packet from the ramen. Instead, you make your own delicious sauce.
How to store ramen
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Split into 6 containers (one serving each) or store in a big container and serve as needed throughout the week.
How to reheat ramen stir fry
Reheat your chicken ramen stir fry in a skillet or in the microwave. If using a skillet, stir your ramen as it heats to ensure it is heating evenly.
If you're using the microwave, put it in a microwave safe container and heat for 1-2 minutes. Then, enjoy!

I love this recipe! Have made it several times. I typically do 1/3 cup of soy sauce and just under 1/4 cup of rice vinegar. I don't use salt on the meat either as the soy sauce is enough for my preference. I add a little ginger and change up the veggies based on what we have. So good and filling. Super easy to make too!
