Slow cooker turkey meatballs

These slow cooker turkey meatballs are the ultimate easy slow cooker meal! Slow cooker meals are the key to my heart (and busy schedule) because all you need to do it dump ingredients into a bowl and let the slow cooker do all the work.

While there are plenty of meatball recipes out there, I created this recipe to fill the gap of meatball recipes made in the slow cooker!

Turkey meatballs

Why turkey meatballs? Quite frankly, I prefer the taste of turkey over beef.

On top of delicious taste, turkey has awesome nutrition benefits! Turkey is a very lean source of meat that is packed with protein, among other nutrients.

Turkey serves as the base of our recipe and will be combined with a few other common ingredients to be formed into a mixture, rolled into meatballs, and cooked to perfection.

One serving of these turkey meatballs is 140 calories and contains 21 grams of protein.

Easy dinner recipe

This recipe is easy, nutritious, and absolutely delicious. These slow cooker turkey meatballs are perfect for meal prep and can be served over pasta, noodle alternatives, on subs, or with salads.

Grab these ingredients and let's get cooking!

What ingredients do I need?

I’m a firm believer that you can make easy and delicious recipes with fewer than 10 ingredients. This slow cooker turkey meatball recipe only requires a few ingredients.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Ground turkey - While meatballs typically use ground beef as the primary ingredient, these use ground turkey! Turkey is a very lean source of meat that contains a high amount of protein and additional nutrients.
  • Egg - One egg will serve as a binder to help hold the mixture into a meatball shape.
  • Breadcrumbs - A few breadcrumbs will provide a slight crispy texture to the outside of the meatballs.
  • Parmesan cheese - Grated parmesan cheese adds so much flavor to these meatballs!
  • Kosher salt -A pinch of salt will give add to our final meatball flavor.
  • Black pepper - Some black pepper will provide a little kick in flavor to the meatball mixture.
  • Garlic powder - Fresh garlic or garlic powder will work, but these will provide some flavor to the meatball mixture.
  • Basil - A bit of chopped basil will add a little bit of color and some flavor to our meatballs.
  • Pasta sauce - The pasta sauce is going to be poured over the meatballs while they cook. Any flavor of pasta sauce will work great!

Try it with orzo! My husband and I try to prep three meals for dinners each week; one with chicken, one vegetarian, and one with another type of protein. These turkey meatballs are a great addition to the rotation. We swapped out basil and used parsley instead. So delicious!

Post Thanksgiving meals call for something hearty, but not heavy. These meatballs hit just the spot! My husband loved them, and ate them with a side of veggies. Mine went over spaghetti squash. I didnt have turkey, but had beef, and they were wonderful as well. So easy, so good!

Loved this recipe! The meatballs were delicious. I actually cooked them in the air fryer and it worked great. I served them over spaghetti squash and added the sauce at the end. Will make again for sure! Kids loved it too.
