what ingredients do i need for this recipe?
This recipe only requires 5 ingredients. One thing I love about the ingredients in this recipe is that it’s combining several typical pantry ingredients to make something new and delicious! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Chicken breast – This recipe calls for 2 lbs of chicken breast (or about 3 large ones). I’ve used raw and frozen chicken for this recipe and both work.
- Sriracha – This will add some spice to the sauce!
- Honey – To contrast with the spice, the honey will add some sweetness.
- Coconut aminos or soy sauce – Either one of these sauces will add a little salty and sweet flavor to the sauce.
- Garlic powder – Adding a small amount of garlic will make a big difference!
CAN I MAKE SUBSTITUTIONS TO THIS RECIPE?
I usually stick to the recipe, but there are some substitutions you can make based on dietary preferences and what you have available in your fridge. I haven’t tried any of these substitutions but let me know if you do!
- Chicken breast – Raw or frozen chicken will work for this recipe. Instead of chicken breast, you can try chicken thighs.
- Sriracha – The is key to the recipe so I would recommend using this.
- Honey – Honey is another key ingredient, but if you don’t like honey or you’re out, you could try a maple syrup.
- Coconut aminos or soy sauce – Either one of these will work great for the sauce.
- Garlic powder – You could use fresh garlic if you have that! I usually just use a powder because it’s easier .

This was so simple and so delicious! I was scrambling to figure out what to have for dinner and already had all the ingredients for this at home! We made it into open faced sandwiches and broiled with some mozzarella cheese. Topped with greens and avocado. This is for sure a make again!
I used fresh garlic and only about a 1/3 cup sriracha since my partner doesn’t love spicy. Served over rice it was honestly amazing. Thank you Jordan !
Made the recipe tomorrow for dinner and ate it with rice and lettuce. Was yummy, but the sriracha was a little over powering and honey didn’t come through. Want to try it again with less sriracha.
Mega easy and super yummy! I threw this on salad, had it as a sandwich and made tacos with it! By far one of my top 5 chicken recipes to do!
