Snickers Stuffed Dates

Serve as a sweet snack or an appealing appetizer; these four ingredient snickers dates will steal the show!

Healthy Snickers Dates

Dates are a fruit from the Middle East. They're full of natural sugar vs. processed, and have quite a few health benefits. These dates are only four ingredients and definitely taste so much better than a real snickers bar! This sweet snack is simple, savory, and sweet.

It only takes a few minutes to prepare and you'll be impressing your guests with an appealing appetizer. The peanut butter adds protein and a delicious creamy texture. The peanuts and sea salt add crunch and the perfect amount of saltiness. We all know what the dark chocolate adds—who doesn't love dark chocolate?

How to make dates taste like snickers

If you are asking this question you've arrived at the right place. Dates are such a sweet fruit, and you only need to add a few ingredients to them to recreate that iconic snickers taste.

By adding both peanuts and peanut butter, we're able to achieve the creamy and crunchy aspects of a snickers bar that so many know and love. Don't sleep on this delicious snack that gives you hints of both sweet and savory.

Snickers stuffed dates ingredients

Make sure you have these ingredients before you get started making the snickers dates:

  • pitted dates
  • peanuts
  • peanut butter
  • dark chocolate chips
  • coconut oil
  • toppings: sea salt

How to make snickers stuffed dates

  • Place a sheet of parchment paper on a sheet pan.
  • Using a knife, make a small incision to open and remove the pit in the date. Do not cut all the way through.
  • Stuff a little bit of peanut butter and 2-3 peanuts into each date. Press closed.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Place in the microwave and heat and stir in 30 second increments until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Dip each stuffed date in the melted chocolate and place on the sheet of parchment paper. (I recommend using a toothpick to dip the dates in the melted chocolate)
  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Place in the freezer for about an hour. Enjoy!

How long do snickers dates last?

These snickers dates will last in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Enjoy them out of your freezer for up to 2 months.

What can you stuff inside dates?

There are all sorts of variations of stuffed dates and their history is actually long and storied. While they are traditionally filled with meat, nowadays there are so many different stuffed dates recipes.

Some of the options include goat cheese, tahini, prosciutto, or almonds. One of the most popular combinations is, of course, dark chocolate.

Health benefits of dates

The health benefits of dates are numerous. They are high in fiber and antioxidants. They have lots of potassium, which can help with cramping. Dates also have lots of vitamin B6. They may help promote brain health, and also are thought of to help induce natural labor towards the end of a woman's pregnancy.

The chocolate just levels them up, but you're right dates & peanut butter on their own are amazing!
