What is bang bang sauce?

Bang bang sauce is a creamy, sweet and spicy sauce that is SO delicious. It's often served with seafood, chicken, burgers, or in this case, ground turkey bowls! While you can find bottles of pre-made sauce, it's easy to make a homemade version for meals.

Bang bang sauce has been my new favorite thing to add to elevate meals! I have been adding it onto everything. Fish and ground meat has been my very favorite, but I think it just adds so much extra flavor to bowls.

Reasons to love this recipe

  • It's a high-protein recipe
  • The recipe is ready in 20 minutes!

Bang bang turkey rice bowl substitution ideas

One of the awesome things about skillet recipes is that there's so many different ways you can change the recipe and have it turn out to be a great meal. You can use the same sauce but swap any kind of protein, grain or veggie.

  • Instead of white rice try brown rice, quinoa or cauliflower rice
  • I use lean ground turkey but you could use ground chicken, beef or pork too
  • You can add any extra veggies you like to this recipe!

How long does a bang bang turkey rice bowl last in the fridge?

This recipe lasts about 5 days in the fridge once it's cooked. I have made this for meal prep and will reheat and enjoy all week!

The key to storing is to make sure that all of the food is cooled completely before adding to containers. Store each meal in a sealed, airtight container. I like to split them into meal prep containers so it's easy to reheat.

This recipe is absolutely perfect for meal prep! When using this recipe for meal prep, just separate the recipe out evenly into 4-6 containers, depending on how big of servings you prefer.

Make sure you store the airtight containers in the fridge. When you're ready to eat, simply grab one, reheat, and you're ready to go!

Note: You can either add the sauce right away and reheat the bowl with the sauce whenever or wait to add the sauce until after you reheat the bowl.

What goes well with a bang bang turkey rice bowl?

Honestly bang bang turkey rice bowls are great on their own and don't need to be served with anything. But if you really want to serve with something, try tortilla chips or maybe a fresh salad.

Bang bang turkey rice bowls are a great healthy recipe option! There's a balance of protein, carbs, and fats in each serving.
