Hot Italian sub sliders substitution ideas

There are plenty of substitution ideas for these scrumptious sliders:

  • Rolls: Use whatever variation of rolls you like best.
  • Cheese: In my opinion, provolone cheese definitely tastes best on this slider. However, you can experiment with different cheeses if you'd like.
  • Meat: Add or take away different meats. This sandwich certainly has mix and match potential. Some turkey or deli ham would be great additions.
  • Pepperocinis: Try banana peppers instead!
  • Topping: For a bit of heat, use red pepper flakes.

How long do hot Italian sub sliders last in the fridge?

These hot Italian sub sliders will last in the fridge for up to 5 days.

How to meal prep this recipe

This recipe is so easy to meal prep. You make all the sandwiches at once. After baking, store in the fridge until you're ready to enjoy.

Make sure you use an airtight container to store the sliders. They will last up to five days. I recommend reheating these sandwiches in the oven to help retain their crispiness.

What goes well with hot Italian sub sliders?

There are so many great side ideas for these hot Italian sliders. I'm thinking of all the classic sandwich sides.

Potato chips, fresh fruit, potato salad, fresh vegetables. Your options are endless!

How healthy are hot Italian sub sliders?

Healthy is a subjective term and depends on many individual factors. Your health goals, body, and movement levels all play a role in if something is "healthy" or not.

I love to take a look at individual ingredients in a recipe to determine how it supports your body. For example, the meat in this sandwich is an excellent source of protein. Protein keeps you full for longer, and helps build muscle.

What is in a spicy Italian sub?

A hot Italian sub, like the one in this recipe typically consists of a spicy meat, some peppers, cheese, and a yummy, buttery topping. That is exactly what this recipe uses. Some also use fresh veggies like tomatoes or lettuce.

How to keep Italian sliders from getting soggy?

A great way to keep these sliders from getting soggy is to assemble and bake right before you are going to serve them. Also, you can use cheese and meat as a barrier between the wet ingredients like peppers and the bread.
