Mini chicken pot pie substitution ideas

If you're looking for a substitution, look no further! Try out these tasty trades for this mini chicken pot pie recipe:

  • Cans of biscuits: Instead of pre-made biscuit dough, you could use the crescent roll dough or store-bought pie crusts from the same freezer aisle. You could also make your own biscuit dough or own pie crust!
  • Chicken breast: You'll need shredded chicken for this recipe, and in my experience the best to shred are chicken breasts. However, you could try with a boneless, skinless chicken thigh or wing meat, too. Also, some leftover rotisserie chicken would be great here.
  • Frozen peas and carrots: In place of the frozen mixed vegetables, use fresh! Green beans, peas, carrots, corn all are so tasty in a chicken pot pie filling. Cooked frozen mixed veggies definitely work too. So pick out your favorites and go for it!
  • Fat free can of cream of chicken soup: Any sort of "cream of" soup will work here. There are tons to pick from - cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of broccoli, etc.
