Panera Green Goddess Salad

Panera or Bread Company

I love Panera (or Bread Co. for those of you who are with me!) As a native St. Louisan, it will always be Bread Co. in my heart! Regardless of what you call this restaurant, we can all agree it's a place to visit for amazing sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Panera has endless amounts of options on the menu! They probably have something similar to what you're craving, plus it's very easy to customize their menu choices to match your nutrition needs.

Panera salads

I always change up what I order at Panera, but I love their salads! They do not skimp on toppings and create them with ingredients that will keep you full and energized.

It's so easy to customize the ingredients to match your needs. Want more protein? Ask for double meat. Want less fat? Ask for the dressing on the side.

Green Goddess Salad

My go-to healthy Panera salad is the Green Goddess Cobb salad. Its nutrition profile is a balance of carbs, protein, and fat which will keep you full and energized! I love the flavors and always find myself coming back to this salad.

I order this salad so much that I wanted to create a copy cat version to make at home.

Panera green goddess salad

This Panera Green Goddess Salad is a copy cat of the original. The salad toppings are tweaked a little to match my nutrition needs, but it's very similar! This homemade salad is a quick and easy way to enjoy Panera right in your own home.

Panera green goddess salad nutrition

Here's a quick comparison of the nutrition differences between ordering the salad at Panera and making your own version at home.

If you ordered the Panera Green Goddess in the restaurant, the nutrition would look like:

  • 550 calories, 33 grams Fat, 24 grams Carbs, 42 grams Protein
  • This nutrition is without changing anything

This nutrition of the copy cat version looks like this:

  • 505 calories, 28 grams Fat, 8 grams Carbs, 52 grams Protein
  • This nutrition does not include dressing

What is the healthiest salad at Panera?

The truth is, a salad is only "healthy" if it's "healthy" for you. Are you looking for a salad low in calories? High in fat? Higher in protein? You can customize ANY salad to make it work for YOU.

I choose the Panera Green Goddess Salad as a healthy option because of the high protein, moderate fat, and how much energy this will provide me.

Salads are a staple for me at lunch so I’m always looking for new combinations! This one was an instant winner. I just use raw red onions instead of pickled. I love using the green goddess dressing from Trader Joe’s for this!

What green goddess dressing do you think best resembles the Panera one?

Thanks! Kassi

@Kassi, I have been using this sauce for a while and have tried many different brands. I ashamed to say I tried panera's green goddess sauce today and there is no brand that is anywhere near as sweet as the green goddess sauce you can find at Panera. The sweetness was quite overpowering in the sauce. I would definitely recommend trying different brands yourself to see if any certain one fits your taste. And if you prefer it sweeter then add a bit more basil and sugar to make it more similar. Sorry to disappoint. I hope you find a brand you enjoy.
